Primarily, the University Libraries uses the Library of Congress Classification system.

However, government publications are organized by the Superintendent of Documents Classification system, and our youth collection is organized according to the Dewey Decimal System.

All three call number systems organize items alphanumerically. For example, 921 A1125 will come before 921 A472mi 2018 on the shelf (Dewey Decimal). Meanwhile, V23 .B32 comes before V23  .U64 1991 (Library of Congress).
