James A. Michener (1907-1997) was a famous author well known throughout the world. He wrote over 20 novels, including Tales of the South Pacific, Mexico, The Source, The Bridges at Toko-Ri, Centennial, Texas, Alaska, and Caribbean. He received a master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and also taught at the University.
